Bound - Cloudy Deceit
I see a lot of time after this first film by the Wachowski brothers that dates back to '96, always transmitted by Rete 4 and always on the second evening. An innocent plot: two lesbian hatch a plan to steal the briefcase full of money that the man of one of the two, a small mob, must deliver to his boss. And they do it because they love.
Built as a B-movie in the dialogue, plot, set design, seems to be a good test of future directors of the Matrix: now you can see the similarities with the latter for a photograph of the Pope embracing black throughout the film, and the sharp sounds of composer Don Davis. The camera moves a lot, priority must be given the first few floors, and makes extensive use of footage from above. Filmed in all affairs, in an apartment furnished pacchianissimo (so to speak: faux marble floors, dark black, white type psycho bathroom, wet bar in the lounge, imperium style as a whole), it is appreciated because this is the only thing that I really enjoyed it. Of course there are also two lesbian scenes in the first half hour and expressions pissed Joe Pantoliano always tank top, but it is far too verbose. Cede interweaving when the plot twists are too many and from the beginning when the character of Corky thief is lost to make way for the most fatal and provocative Violet, the woman's boss. And flaws here and there. A hard boiled / pulp as this certainly can not avoid showing amputations of fingers and perforated bodies piled in the bathtub, but also the living room carpet soaked with blood. I wonder how it would look if it were not for the lesbian factor: better, but too conventional, say that he would lose everything. Better still if they had shot only in black and white, he would remember even more certain very old or the best independent film noir. Apprezarne cmq. The intent was to make a film about trust betrayed and conquered seen by two lesbians who take the piss men enough detail in the Mafia babbioni.
